Harumpf

The garage was suppose to be started yesterday. Yeah, right. The lumber should have been the first delivery after lunch and it finally shows up at 4:00.
That doesn't look like enough lumber to build a 1400 square foot garage and our front porch. Even with the two side walls already done, since they are the existing walls of the two buildings we are joining together. There should be lumber for the pantry, hallway, and cleaning closet that are being built in the garage. These structures are the support walls to hold up the roof of the garage.

We didn't order lumber for the extra table and chair storage closet yet because we haven't figured out where we are putting it in the garage. We have enough extra folding tables and chairs for the whole Schweer family and any friends who want to attend one of our family meals so we need a large closet. In the last house they were all kept in the attic. We will have another easy access walk in attic; we are getting too old and getting older each day to be hauling all that up and down the stairs.

You can see when lumber is delivered to a jobsite the truck backs up and lifts its bed; dumping all your lumber on the ground. It's amazing how it all stays together in a neat little package.

Started counting number of pieces and kinds of lumber. More than half the order is wrong or missing. Frustration level increased ten fold. Luckily, it is raining today so the lumber company will have time to get what we are missing out to us and exchange the wrong pieces for the correct ones.. Sadly, it is raining today which means the lumber truck cannot get to the back of the garage without putting HUGE ruts in the driveway. The lumber will need to b e dropped on the front drive and hand carried through shrubbery to the building site.
