We put up crown moulding today. I have painted the first coat of paint and sanded that coat. After it is up I will put the second coat on. Did it this way so the first two steps are not done above my head.
It really changes the way the room looks
These are little curly Q's of wood shavings. We used the planer where the luan went beyond the drywall to make a smooth edge.
"You Tube" videos gave directions. If you do not make these miter cuts very often you need help. You have to think backwards. I kept trying to offer suggestions and was told to be quiet. I do not understand these kinds of things at all.
Bill made templates for the inside and outside cuts.
Hooked the shop vac up to the chop saw. This cut down on the amount of sawdust tremendously.
We used blue painters tape to mark where the studs where in the ceiling so the finishing nails went into wood and not just sheetrock.
How pretty is this?
It just makes the room complete.
We have silicone to put in and touch up paint to do. We will do that after we put the baseboards and door casings on. No reason to get everything out now when we will need to do it later.
