Quick Before It Rains Again

One of the multitude of jobs on our never shortening list is to control all the water that runs off the Residence and new garage roofs.   It all flows to this one area. This area is lowest against the house because there have never been gutters and the rain has simply pounded the dirt down. So, all the rain water sits against the house with nowhere to go until it gets to be over an inch and a half high.

Last week we killed all the grass in this area and now the hard work begins. Getting this dug so the soil slopes away from the house and towards the water ditch we have. this ditch takes all of our runoff to our pond that doesn't work but will some day.

The insulation on our condenser was falling apart and not doing it's job. So we replaced it and in the process discovered the electrical wiring has frayed spots, that item will now go on our to do list. Replace a/c wiring. We just had all the telephone wiring replaced because it was frayed. Most people would just leave these things but we believe if you are going to do a job do it right.

We also raised the condenser up 3 inches so there is better air circulation, we can clean around it easier, and this puts it above the rock that will be going into this area. Once the rock goes in we will need to support our copper pipe here so we don't take the chance of someone stepping on it and losing all our freon.

Oh My Goodness; there was no way I could finish my job! After two and a half hours of shaving and digging dirt I was done in. I will live to fight another day but no more right now.

There will be red rock lining this area to make it easier to weed eat around it.
