Garage may not be finished but it is to the point we can get the guttering up . Usually, not having gutters up during the summer in Oklahoma is not a big deal. This year we have had lots and lots of rain. So lots and lots of rain not going where it should be going. We just shovel the dirt back in place and wait for the next rain.
Doesn't that look nice with the finishing touches going on? Lots of downspouts in the back carrying the water over to our drainage area,and then the water goes to the pond that doesn't work yet.
On the north side of the Residence it is a different story. The gutter guys only put one down spout for the entire north side of the building. They say it won't be an issue, that they put in 6 inch commercial guttering. Fine, but it all comes out one spot. How are we suppose to control all that water? The place the downspout comes down is right where our patio will end up being. That we can take care of later by putting in an underground pipe and dropping it in to the pond. The problem is what to do with all that water now. I put sloped flagstone under the downspout to spread the water out as much as possible.
What happens if the gutter ever gets clogged? I can just see a mess happening. They said they will come out after our next big rain and make sure it is going to do its job. We'll see. We are frustrated because the projects we have to rely on other people for just don't seem to be getting done like we want them done. But it's better than us having to do them.
