Extended Family

I love that we have an extended family around town. One of Darrick's cousins, whom we adore, lives just down the road and owns a tractor. We don't want to buy one for the little bit of work we need done. Jonathan is willing to loan it to us and Darrick knows how to do the work we need done.

This is Jonathan, our cousin by marriage. Yes, that whole family seems to love full beards.

First job was to move some moss boulders that were back in the trees. Why they had been put back there where you couldn't see them, I don't know. They are not natural boulders so someone drove a tractor back there and planted them. Makes no sense.

It was very funny watching and listening to Bill and Darrick try to figure out how to pick these very large boulders up with a bucket. It the tractor had forks not a problem, with a bucket there is a problem.
Bring out the chains, maybe that will help.

Right, Bill just push it over it only weighs +/- 1100 pounds.

I came over to offer my expert advice. They didn't listen.

First rock fell off the bucket when going over a dip. We'll just drag it across the yard, what's a little rut.
Uh oh, the driveway, can't pull it over the concrete. The rut will fill back in  the concrete won't.
Chains lifted it barely off the ground and it could continue on to its new home.
Plopped down and of course the ugly bottom is on the top  now.
Chains and the tractor pulled it so the pretty side is on top.
 Silly boy.
Next one came in much easier. The guys had the job figured out for this one.
 Down it goes
Landscaping has begun. This bed will have all the grass removed and it will be a shrub and materials bed. We will wait until we have a sprinkler system installed before bringing in the plantings so Bill will have to mow around the rocks.

There is one left in the trees. It is the largest of the three. We don't think we can move it because of its size.
